Head of ETF Strategy, Allianz Investment Management

Charles Champagne is the Head of ETF Strategy at Allianz Investment Management. He manages the overall strategic positioning of the ETF business as well as the team responsible for product development, investment analysis, capital market assumptions, and portfolio implementation ideas to help clients understand the market landscape and achieve their desired investment outcomes.

Prior to joining Allianz, Charles was the Head of Portfolio Insights and ETF Analytics at SPDR ETFs. While at SSGA, his team was responsible for working with clients to optimize their investment outcomes through custom portfolio analysis and investment analytics

Charles has his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Bridgewater State College and holds the FINRA Series 7, 24, 63 licenses.

Matt Kaufman
SVP, Head of ETFs, Calamos Investments

Matt Kaufman serves as SVP, Head of ETFs at Calamos Investments, where he leads the firm’s ETF business.

Matt joined Calamos Investments in 2023 as an accomplished financial services executive with more than 20 years of experience serving the asset management and insurance industries across North America, Europe, and Asia. Matt has designed, led, and helped build hundreds of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), unit investment trusts (UITs), indexes, variable insurance trust funds, registered index-linked annuities, fixed annuities, and closed-end funds. He is also a sought-after source by leading financial publications and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and events.

Prior to Calamos, Matt spent more than a decade at Milliman, Inc., where he served as President of the firm’s broker/dealer (Milliman Investment Management Services LLC) and as a principal of the firm’s $170b RIA (Milliman Financial Risk Management LLC). Matt also draws from his prior experience at PowerShares ETFs, where he helped the firm grow during the formative years of the ETF ecosystem.

Matt earned a B.A. in Public Administration and Economics from Cedarville University and maintains Certified ETF Advisor (CETF®) and Professional Certified Marketer® designations through The ETF Institute and American Marketing Association, respectively. He also holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 24 and CFTC Series 3 licenses.

Director of Product Strategy, Innovator ETFs

Andrew Nelson, CFA, is the Director of Product Strategy at Innovator ETFs. In his role, Andrew oversees product strategy, product management, and implementation, driving innovation and growth for the company.

Prior to joining Innovator, Andrew was the Director of ETF Due Diligence at Invesco, supporting the firm's ETF business development efforts within the Wealth Management Platforms division. With extensive experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, and the overall ETF industry, Andrew is dedicated to advancing innovative ETF solutions and expanding market opportunities.

Morrison Warren

Partner and Co-Chair Investment Management Group, Chapman and Cutler LLP

Morrison Warren is a partner and the co-chair of Chapman’s Investment Management Practice Group. Morrison focuses his law practice in the corporate and securities area with an emphasis on investment companies, including open-end funds, closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds, unit investment trusts, and private investment companies. He also represents broker-dealers, investment advisers, and municipal securities dealers, as well as publicly held companies with respect to their compliance with stock exchange requirements and federal securities laws.

Morrison is one of the leading legal ETF practitioners and now serves as fund counsel to over 525 ETFs. Through his representation of these clients, he has helped bring to market some of the most notable products in recent years, including the first 1940 Act commodity ETF, the first blockchain ETF, the first "defined outcome" ETFs, the first levered and inverse single-stock ETFs, one of the first bitcoin futures ETFs, three of the first spot bitcoin ETFs, and two of the first spot ether ETFs.

Morrison has also been at the vanguard of the emerging blockchain and digital asset industry. He represents clients seeking to offer physically-backed bitcoin ETFs, ETFs principally investing in bitcoin futures contracts, and other issues relating to funds which invest in cryptocurrency in securities offerings. He also represents privately equity funds and private trusts that offer exposure to various cryptocurrencies.

Morrison regularly advises closed-end funds and their advisers on initial public offerings and follow-on rights offerings and oversaw one of the first instances of an interval fund publicly listing its shares on a national securities exchange. He is also part of a Chapman team that regularly serves as fund counsel for the initial offering of approximately 200 unit investment trusts annually.
