NYSE, The Philanthropy Workshop (TPW), and Morrison Foerster are excited to host an interactive half-day program to provide pre-IPO and public companies, founders, and philanthropists direction on salient impact considerations and vehicles for meeting impact goals.
“Impact” is generally defined as an emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in addition to financial returns. With increasing social disruptions and a projected economic recession, stakeholder expectations are mounting as the impact of corporate action on social, environmental, and economic welfare is becoming more clearly defined.
Stakeholders and innovators are now examining options to balance the profit motive with impact, and companies are increasingly identifying opportunities to allocate resources and expertise to address stakeholder needs beyond traditional revenue expectations. With an increased focus on social impact risks and opportunities, companies and asset managers are examining how they can balance stakeholder interests with fiduciary duties, how to implement new “scaffolding” for board governance, and how management can scale innovation to move away from a little “philanthropy on the side” (tithing 1%) and toward more whole-sale changes to operations.
To clarify impact risks and opportunities, we will discuss the tools that companies and leaders can employ to promote positive impact – financial, social, and environmental. We will dive into these topics through a series of panel discussion sessions with an impressive array of speakers, including:
How to implement sustainability and “impact first” strategies at operating companies and through innovative philanthropy
Five things pre-public companies can do to enhance positive impact and distinguish themselves in public markets
Effectively navigating individual and family wealth: TPW leaders share innovative impact models, candid insights and “what I wish I would have known”
Responsible Innovation: Ensuring ethics in emerging technologies
Closing remarks and key takeaways for promoting positive impact
The gathering will conclude with a networking happy hour.
Space is limited. RSVP by Tuesday, April 25. This invite is personal and non-transferable.
